Sport’s Day Mega Birthday Party
May 11

We had been contemplating about changing Ivan’s milk powder for quite sometime already. No. 2 is on the way, expenses of milk powder will increase. Therefore, we are looking at alternative milk to replace the costly Pediasure. I tried once buying a tin of Mamil gold, Dumex for my son a year ago. Unfortunately, he could tell the difference and refuse to take milk. Plan failed.

Recently I bought a pack of Fernleaf from Jusco, not sure was it a coincidence, he purge and puked, had stomach upset big time. Later when I checked back, it was already expired. Careless me! So I stopped trying until I saw this Sustagen from mead Johnson, my gut feeling urge me to buy. I bought a pack, vanilla flavour. Wooo…bingo! He just loves the milk so much. He could drink like seven bottles of 200ml per day. So now, we stick to Sustagen. I tasted the milk myself, it’s very tasty but also has higher sugar content as I could see those translucent bling bling particles in the powder under strong lights. Anyone of you feeding your child Sustagen? Any feedback?

Well, just hope that he stays healthy and happy like his plant. Hehe…do you still remember his golden lucky egg seed? It had grown so wild and even taller than Ivan now. Time flies.

I heard Pediasure is for picky eater kid??? It’s the most expensive formula in the market now. Fortunately Brae doesn’t really fuss about his formula, we use GainPlus now. Isomil / Similac when he had diarrhea a week ago and also Enfagrow (sample given by the paed).

If Ivan likes the Sustagen, just continue to give him that lar. Or get a few samples from other formula for him to try?

Curious. Are these the usual brands? Think the ones selling well in Sg are Enfalac and Similac but no mention here. Have you tried them before?

  12. Twin Says:

My kids are taking Wyeth Gold and I was thinking of switching both of them to Pediasure … then they will be drinking the same milk … easier for us. They are quite picky eaters especially Denisha. The last time when I let her try it when she was 1 plus she doesn’t like it. I will let them try again after this batch of milk is finished. Its great that Ivan loves the Sustagen.

I was thinking of changing my son’s milk too.. he is having constipation nowadays. Don’t know whether it has got anything to do with the milk.. Was looking at Sustagen too.. but didn’t want then to get addicted to the sweetness.. I’m confused myself!

  14. Tracy Says:

My girl is still taking Pediasure and I really find dat it’s very costly and thought of changing. She’s indeed a very picky eater. I’m not sure if Des will like the different taste or not. Ivan like the taste of Sustagen?
