While I was sound asleep in the morning around 8am. Ivan called out for me,
“Mommy… wet wet.” He was referring to his pants. He forgot to go to the loo for his pee. He wet his pants and his favourite blue blankie. He loves his blankie so much that it’s hard to part with it. When he heard me saying to send his blankie for wash, he cried aloud like no tomorrow. Not able to stand the noise I told him,
“You can keep it but it’s wet and filled with your pee”. ”It’s Ivan’s” he claimed Therefore, I let him cry while getting some water for him to drink at a corner. “Nobody care about me”….wailllllllllll “Nobody love me”……….wailllllllllllllllllllll “Nobody sayang me”………………waillllllllllllllllllllllllllllllll It makes me laugh instead of sad to hear that. I know he just wants attention, some hugging and assurance. I could tell that he has been feeling insecure lately; he climbed to our bed in the middle of the night to get some warmth. Therefore, I walked over to him and tell him that I love and care about him; gave him a tight hug, kisses and ask edhim to stop crying. He stopped after all gestures were done. :) Haha, my poor little boy! *shake head*

Hehhe its like that la when he knows baby #2 is coming out soon and taking all mommy’s attention. Ivan’s behaviour reminds me of Darien a few night ago. We were getting to bed and the lights we already off. He decided that he wanted to fool around and disturb his sister. So I beat him on the leg and went back to bed. I heard him say “Mommy beat me. Mommy don’t love me” (pouting his lips). Hehe he sounded so pitiful. Don’t worry lah .. this phase will pass before you’ll even notice.

My first reaction would be laughing too but like the others have said, I think Ivan has sensed his parents (esp mom’s) priorities will changed once little sister is here.

wow..i reckon he’ll be more needy when no.2 arrives..prepare yourselves..it’s a bit tricky in the beginning to handle a tod with a baby..handling the baby is ok..it’s the tod that needs special care and attention…
